For those of you using VMware’s new PVSCSI driver feature, especially on ESXi, it is important to note that there will be a patch coming to it to protect against unexpected behavior. I can’t give too much detail on this other than it is a rare issue, but needless to say there is traction to get an update out there for this issue.
Am I saying to not use the PVSCSI driver for vSphere virtual machines? At this point, I would say the feature is still safe to use. And ripping it out is not just yet the right thing to do, but the possibility was raised. If we are left high and dry on a fix for this, then maybe.
